HOMEWORK

There are many controversial opinions about homework and whether or not it improves academic achievement. Unfortunately, opinions cannot tell us whether homework works. The best way to answer this question is to compare the achievement of students who are assigned homework with that of students assigned no homework.

Research studies have concluded that the more homework students complete, the better they do in school.

Homework can be effective in improving students' scores on a test at the end of a topic unit, on unit tests, and final exam. It is one of the ways to reinforce the topics covered during the class and enables students to practice in between lessons. After all, 'practice makes perfect!'

At Educated MIND21 we believe that the right type of homework not only improves academic achievement, but also can be habit forming. It helps students develop responsibility and life skills and the ability to manage tasks. Also, it provides opportunities to learn to cope with difficulties and distractions. Moreover, it develops good study habits and independent learning.
